Samsung Electronics has retained the No. 1 position in Europe’s microwave market for an 11th consecutive year, with Euromonitor International data showing the company recorded the highest microwave retail volume sales in the region in 2025.

Samsung Electronics has maintained its leadership in the European microwave oven market for the 11th consecutive year, extending a run that began in 2015.
According to market intelligence firm Euromonitor International, Samsung recorded the highest microwave retail volume sales in Europe in 2025, the company said in an announcement on March 30, 2026.
The latest result means Samsung has held the top position in the European microwave segment every year since 2015, highlighting the South Korean electronics company's sustained presence in the region's home-appliance market.
Samsung Extends European Microwave Leadership
Samsung's latest milestone follows its 2024 performance, when the company also ranked first in Europe's microwave market.
In 2025, Samsung announced that it had maintained the No. 1 position for a 10th consecutive year based on 2024 market data. The latest Euromonitor figures extend that run by another year.
Samsung said its 2025 leadership covered 19 European countries, based on Euromonitor's retail volume sales data.
Product Strategy Focuses on Cooking Convenience
Samsung has increasingly positioned its microwave portfolio around combining traditional microwave functions with additional cooking capabilities and easier operation.
The company's European microwave strategy includes models designed to address different cooking requirements, from reheating and defrosting to grilling and other food-preparation functions.
Samsung's continued leadership also comes as home-appliance manufacturers increasingly compete around multifunctional cooking, connected appliances and smarter kitchen experiences.
Bespoke Design Expands Into Kitchen Appliances
Design has also become an important element of Samsung's broader appliance strategy.
Through its Bespoke portfolio, Samsung has sought to make appliances more closely aligned with contemporary kitchen interiors while combining design with functionality.
The strategy reflects a wider shift in the appliance industry, where consumers increasingly consider not only performance but also how refrigerators, ovens, microwaves and other appliances integrate visually and technologically into the home.
SmartThings Strengthens Samsung's Connected-Home Strategy
Samsung's position in home appliances is also supported by its wider SmartThings ecosystem, which connects compatible appliances and devices through a common platform.
The connected-home approach gives Samsung an opportunity to link kitchen appliances with televisions, smartphones and other smart-home products rather than treating each device as a standalone appliance.
This ecosystem strategy is becoming increasingly relevant as appliance manufacturers move towards connected kitchens and automated home experiences.

European Home Appliance Competition Is Evolving
Competition in Europe's appliance sector is increasingly moving beyond conventional hardware specifications.
Manufacturers are focusing on areas including:
Connected-home integration
Energy efficiency
Multifunctional appliances
AI-assisted features
Premium and built-in kitchen products
Design customisation
App-based appliance management
Samsung and rival LG have also been stepping up efforts in Europe's premium built-in kitchen appliance market, highlighting the strategic importance of the region for South Korean consumer-electronics companies.
Samsung European Microwave Market
Samsung's 11-year run at the top of Europe's microwave market demonstrates how the company has built a significant home-appliance business alongside its better-known smartphone, television and semiconductor operations.
The challenge will be maintaining that position as the kitchen-appliance market increasingly moves toward connected, multifunctional and intelligent products.
For Samsung, its combination of appliance hardware, SmartThings connectivity and broader connected-home ecosystem could become increasingly important as competition moves from individual appliances toward integrated home experiences.
